Born and raised in Detroit Michigan, Allen played in various local bands and wound up doing his first tour with the Mighty Dells of Chicago. After relocating to Los Angeles, Allen landed auditions and tours with up and coming R&B artist Teena Marie, then the Jones Girls. After those initial jobs, he started working with a wide variety of Artist’s. From Rick James and The Stone City Band, to Etta James and The Roots Band. From Ray Parker Jr. and Raydio, to New Edition, Cheryl Lynn and Jeffrey Osborne.
