biography

Neo-Soul/R&B artist Charisse Arrington graces the music scene with a soulful sound and makes her stunning statement of purpose as a talented singer, songwriter, vocal arranger, and producer.

Charisse proved her talents from an early age, competing in talent shows and winning a multitude of local and stateside competitions. Charisse remembers, “as a child, I was exposed to many genres of music and would always try to sing every song I heard, whether it was r&b, jazz, or something other. I really loved all types of music and would constantly experiment with adding my own vocal harmonies and arrangements to all the records I was listening to.”

After relocating to New York City, Charisse’s career really began to pick up speed and she broke onto the “open mic” and recording scene with a bang. She has easily segued into the life of a live stage performer and studio pro in the Big Apple. She has worked with several production houses and recorded vocally in various capacities for music publishers and various major & indie labels. Her big break came in typical Charisse Arrington style. With equal parts talent, hard work, and timing, she landed a solo, major label recording deal where she enjoyed rave reviews and chart success until her departure. It has been her good fortune to be featured on major movie soundtracks, tour with a number of top artists, as well as, musically collaborate with a wide cast of known producers, songwriters, & musicians.

While continuing to evolve as a musician, it is Charisse’s goal to creatively achieve many things. Recently, she was selected by the Tonos A&R department; while in conjunction with AOL, as the “AOL musician of the week” (April 2003).

Due to her formal studies in one of NY’s leading music school’s, she has also attained a great deal of educational knowledge in Music and Business. Not only can she be found on the stage, but also in the studio writing and creating for herself along with other artist’s, while laying down some of her best tracks to date. Additionally, Charisse continues to work as a hired session, performing and touring vocalist and offers private instruction in voice and music theory.
