biography

With her powerful, soul-influenced voice and captivating stage presence, Annie has become an undisputed musical force for the new millennium. Her vocal ability has been compared to and is reminiscent of soul legends Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight and funk divas Tina Marie and Chaka Khan. Still, Annie possesses a distinctive and energetic style that is uniquely and definably her own.

From her soul stirring ballads to her adrenaline soaked dance tracks, Annie’s voice and song writing is equally aspired and assured. Nominated twice for both “Best R&B Vocalist” and “Best Song” in 1995 and Three times in 2002 by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), Annie has proven herself an accomplished composer as well as one of the best R&B vocalists around today.

Annie and her band have toured nationally opening for Joan Jett, WAR, Chuck Brown and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, just to name a few. She’s played several large festivals (National Captial BBQ Battle and Red River Revel Festival), concerts (The Kennedy Center) and clubs (The Village Underground) and is a favorite in the East Coast region. Annie performed the Star Spangled Banner three times in 2002 for the televised NBA and WNBA games at the MCI Center and was featured on FOX Channel 5 as one of the artist for the National Captial BBQ Battle. Since the independent release of “History” in 2001 Annie has received high acclaim from such notable critics from the Washington Post and the Washington Times. AOL’s Tonos.com featured her as their “Musician of the Week”. There has been much interest from major labels, radio, films and tv. Annie is well on her way to making some “History” of her own!
