biography

Shalonda started singing at the early age of five. With an upbringing in the church, she sang in the choir. Through her soulful performances, Shalonda became one of the congregation’s strongest soloists. After being noticed by a prestigious member of the San Diego Opera, Shalonda was offered a scholarship for private vocal lessons as a classical singer. After years of formal training in opera and performing in various features such as “The Passion of Jonathan Wade,” Shalonda felt that it was time to broaden her musical talents and pursue other music genres.

In high school Shalonda began to listen to more R&B music and took her inspiration from performers like Anita Baker and Whitney Houston. She signed with a local record label in 1993 and began to perform in various talent shows. Her talents always captured first place honors. Through many ups and downs, Shalonda has never let go of her dream to become one of R&B’s premier vocalists.

In 2002 Shalonda has been blessed with a demo that showcases her dynamic singing style as well as her unique vocal talents. With the help of her upcoming website, www.shalondamusic.com, and a strong support team, she has taken the initiative to market and promote herself. As an established business owner, Shalonda’s dreams and visions to “always pursue my number one goal to sing and perform,” are more realistic than they have ever been.
