Summary quotation from Wikipedia:
Heroes is a song by the Swedish DJ and music producer Alesso. A remake of the song, titled Heroes (We Could Be) (stylized as Heroes (we could be)) featuring the vocals of Swedish singer Tove Lo was released as an official single in 2014 and has become a much greater hit, charting in a number of countries. In the US, the remake went to number one on the dance chart.
The songs lyrics are partially taken from Heroes (1977) by David Bowie. The lyrics of each of the stanzas differ entirely from Bowies. The subject of the song has been updated from that of irony-touched love in the shadow of the Berlin Wall in Bowies version to the present-day street-life interactions of a couple.
The title of the song also drops the extra quotation marks that are present in the title of Bowies song. In that song, the extra quotes in the title were an affectation meant to invoke an ironic mood.
