    Summary quotation from Wikipedia:

“Heroes” is a song by the Swedish DJ and music producer Alesso. A remake of the song, titled “Heroes (We Could Be)” (stylized as “Heroes (we could be)”) featuring the vocals of Swedish singer Tove Lo was released as an official single in 2014 and has become a much greater hit, charting in a number of countries. In the US, the remake went to number one on the dance chart.

The song’s lyrics are partially taken from “‘Heroes’” (1977) by David Bowie. The lyrics of each of the stanzas differ entirely from Bowie’s. The subject of the song has been updated from that of irony-touched love in the shadow of the Berlin Wall in Bowie’s version to the present-day street-life interactions of a couple.

The title of the song also drops the extra quotation marks that are present in the title of Bowie’s song. In that song, the extra quotes in the title were an affectation meant to invoke an ironic mood.
