The song was recorded in New York. It impacted urban radio on March 20, 2012 as the album’s seventh single. “No Church in the Wild” was featured in the trailers for the action film Safe House and the 2012 film adaptation of The Great Gatsby.

    The video was filmed in late April 2012 on locations in Prague, Czech Republic by acclaimed French director Romain Gavras, known for his work for M.I.A or Justice. Garvas brought the D.O.P. Mattias Montero and few other crew members (mainly producers, dressers and featured stunt guys), however most of the filming team was from Czech. They were 200 extras, divided into cops and rioters. The portion of the video premiered at one of the Watch the Throne shows at The O2 Arena in London. The final video was released on 29th of May. The end scene subtly influenced by young visual artist Unkle Luc , who’s art project “The Wild” features an elephant eerily placed in an urban environment.
