Lips Are Movin is a song performed by American recording artist Meghan Trainor for her third studio album Title (2015). It was released on October 21, 2014, by Epic Records as the second single from the record. It was written and produced by Kevin Kadish, with additional songwriting provided by Trainor. Lips Are Movin is a pop and 50s/60s influenced doo-wop song which lyrically finds Trainor abandoning her boyfriend after she discovers he is cheating on her.

Lips Are Movin was first offered as a first listen by Shazam on October 14, 2014, and premiered the day after on MTVs website. It was sent to contemporary hit radio on October 21, 2014. However, some radio stations were already playing it after its debut. According to Mediabase, the song garnered adds from three monitored stations on October 15, 2014. Included in that list were KIIS-FM, KISS-FM, and XL FM.
Musically, Lips Are Movin is a pop, 50s/60s influenced doo-wop and a blue-eyed soul song which lyrically finds Trainor abandoning her boyfriend after she discovers he is cheating on her, while she sings I know you lie because your lips are movin/ Tell me do you think Im dumb?/ I might be young, but I aint stupid/ Talking circles with your tongue. The track was described by critics as having a similar feel to Trainors previous single, All About That Bass as she raps, Boy, look at me in my face/ Tell me that youre not just about this bass/ You really think I could be replaced/ Nah, I come from outer space. Kevin Kadish has said that he and Trainor wrote the song in only eight minutes.
Commercial performance
On the week ending November 8, 2014, the song debuted on Billboard Hot 100 at number 93. On the following week, it jumped 23 spots to number 70. On the third week, it jumped number 50. On the week ending, November 29, 2014, it jumped to number 38 before reaching number 19 a week later and reaching its current peak of number 13.
Music video
Background and concept
Trainor teamed up with HP to create the video for the song. It features special appearances from Marcus Johns, Chachi, Robby Ayala, Les Twins, Lizzza, Kristin Ess and Cody Johns. The video premiered on November 19, 2014 on Trainors official VEVO page.
Synopsis
The video opens with Trainor singing into a red microphone, surrounded by colourful backgrounds. The scene then cuts into close-up of her lips. Trainor dances with background dancers. As the video progresses, the Les Twins are shown dancing. Trainor is then shown backstage trying on outfits interspersed with footage of her, singing. Trainor then appears, dancing, in a onesie with a cat on it. Scenes of Trainor getting makeup are shown. The video cuts with Trainor and several internet personalities dancing together.
Live performances
Trainor has performed the song on the Today show. She also performed the song on Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2014.
